To build or not to build: that is the question. https://ift.tt/2C69XXu

TL:DR Rebuildable set ups are not super scary.

So I feel like a golden rule of this sub is “pay it forward.” Everyone here is super helpful and nice. I’ve asked a bunch of inane questions and have always gotten well thought out answers and help and encouragement.

So: how can I help? How can I spread #TeamPositivity?

Well, a while back I was kicking around the idea of getting into rebuildable coils. This was primarily because coils can be nice but also expensive as hell. Especially when you love you some sweet juices 🤣.

I didn’t know where to begin. There were way too many three letter acronyms. And I finally decided that for my vape style a RTA was the best choice. So the next step was to figure out which one. I looked at my local shop and asked questions. The final two came down to the Geekvape Creed and the Kylin by Vandy Vape. I liked the Creed’s capacity, but the shop was telling me the Kylin May be raised to build for a first time builder. The base has a little more room. I then discovered that the Kylin can also hold up to 6mls so I was more on board with it.

I spent the next few days watching reviews and wicking tutorials getting ready. I made my purchase and got some Clapton wires. I was going to get pre rolled coils, but the shop convinced me that it wasn’t super hard to wrap your own.

To make an already long story short: it worked. I wrapped coils and I wicked them. There were and are times I have messed up (too much cotton, coils too short, aw hell its leaking: that short of stuff) but there are growing pains with this. You can’t do it perfectly without practice. And I’ve been trying to practice. It’s still not perfect, but it’s nice, relaxing, and will be cheaper than disposable coils.

I should also note that I have 6 kids and the prospect of spending or finding time to do this was also scary. But I make time. And I’m also getting faster at it.

So don’t be scared. Ask questions and people here will help you the best they can. But you gotta ask. And believe in yourself.

I hope y’all have a really great day.
