Advice for Mixing Nic Salts for Sub ohm MTL https://ift.tt/2CFDJTP

Hi all.

Been vaping for about 4 months now and am at a bit of crossroads. Have been loving how I feel better, the taste of juice over smoke and not smelling like shit (good for my job). The burn of freebase nic has been bothering me as this alone is almost enough for me to want to go back to smokes.

Bought a bottle of nic salts for mixing a month ago and have decided to give them a go but am struggling to find information that can give me a clue of what strength I should choose, DTL seems to be pretty popular compared to MTL which makes things harder. Would love anyone's input, even websites and videos would be greatly appreciated too.

Now my main question, Do you mix Nicotine salts at the same Strength as Freebase Nicotine?

Have heard that 30mg Nicotine salts feel like 12mg Freebase Nicotine but am not sure if this is true. Would explain why premixed nic salt juices are at that level or higher, even 50mg, could anyone confirm this?

I'll share some information about my current setup, as this may help people that used to smoke similar cigarettes to myself as it was a lot of mods, tanks and different juice types before I found a comfortable vape.

Before Vaping I was smoking Winfield Gold RYO Tobacco with Super Slim filters and about 1-1.5 packets (20 cigs per pack, not RYO packs) a day

Have found that those cigarettes have been well simulated with a Vapefly Nicolas with 0.6 ohm coils. This tank works great because of the short tight narrow drip tip and warm thick created vapour from the sub-ohm coil with a short chimney, plus not one leak. Have found that 12mg freebase nic satisfies my cravings, however it greatly affects the taste (pepper taste like nicotine gum) it took me solid month of coughing to be able to adapt to it a bit. Dropping my Nicotine lower than 12 will not make it satisfying enough per puff and cause me to chain vape, doing this will make my trachea burn (not fun). Dropping lower than 10mg not satisfy me at all.

Have a DTL setup but prefer MTL as do not have that much interest in clouds, still like it, just draws way too much attention in public.

VG/PG ratio is 70/30, actually really like like throat hit from PG and do not believe this is the problem as I have vaped unflavoured 100% PG juice before and loved the throat hit, even has this little sweet taste to it :). Was even thinking of going 50/50 with a nic salt mix.

Think Nic salts may be the go as I believe this burning is from the Freebase Nicotine because as I drop my Nic level it gets less harsh and tastes so much better, but doesn't scratch the itch.

I know that my coil makes a bit more vapour being sub-ohm than a standard MTL coil, but it is so tiny and makes no where near the amount of vapour compared to my DTL setup. Want to still use this coils because anything over 1ohm is just too cool of a temperature to vape.

Thanks for reading if you made it to here 😉
