My first recipe and my first mix. I have a question. https://ift.tt/2RKDLNE

I mixed 700ml of 70/30 VG/PG tonight at 30% flavor and 36mg/ml smooth salts. I am using a Sourin Pod. The coconut and key lime flavors smelled awesome while mixing. I used 120ml coconut and 60ml lime. Upon opening the fresh mint (not menthol) I was overpowered by the smell but added the 30ml anyway as I wanted to maintain the 70/30 VG/PG ratio.

I have 640ml in a liter bottle sitting in a warm tap water bath and am intermittently shaking it. I have 60ml in a boston round for shake and vape, it is also sitting in a warm bath.

I expected the mint to completely overpower the other flavors but it did not. However, it is very present and the main flavor, coconut, takes a back seat to the mint. The key lime is present but clouded by the mint as well.

The flavor is quite nice as is but I expected more coconut and lime flavor. TBH, the flavor is much less potent than I expected at 30%. There is more of a throat hit than I expected using smooth salts but not as much as a cigarette. Because if this I am taking smaller hits.

Will a steep lessen the impact of the mint? Will the coconut and lime come out more as the liquid steeps?

Edit: After about a half of a pod (1ml) I have noticed that the coconut and lime flavors are becoming more prevalent while the mint is starting to take a backseat. The lime really pops on the exhale, as does the coconut which is very good mixed with the lime. The mint is more noticeable on the inhale and is much lessened on the exhale.

I am considering reducing the mint to 15ml and adding 15ml of rum flavor.
