did JUUL’s Removal of Flavors Stop the Need for All Other E-Juice Flavor Bans? https://ift.tt/34FRH26

vote down if you think JUUL removing all flavors besides menthol and tobacco is not enough to stop flavor bans on all other vape e-juices

vote up if you think that JUUL products in flavors is the main cause of the youth vaping epidemic and now that the are removed from the market, federal and state bans are not needed anymore

I think everyone would acknowledge that the JUUL products are wildly popular for underage to sneak into schools and use in bathrooms or in class; as they are easy to carry, quickly pull out and use, get a strong nicotine hit, exhale a smaller more discreet vapor puff, and hide away again – also that is just the exact thing that many cigarette smokers might want in order to quit or hide their smoking; a less toxic and obnoxious device that can be more discreet, easier to use, not have the smell and health complications, and less to no impact on the people around them when compared to cigarettes, but be as strong as smoking …. this is what the JUUL was designed to do; and while being the most popular single product for smokers to use to quit, has by proxy unwantedly fallen into the hands of underage looking for a rebellious fun 'buzz' – after all the JUUL was even advertised to younger generations(of age) as a fun exciting product that was better than smoking, and the children were influenced by that

• the icing on the cake for both adult smokers and underage was surely the great non-tobacco flavors, as they could set aside cigarettes more easily for something that tasted better; the FDA and state/national governments have sighted these flavors as the potentially biggest issue for youth use, and would draw young people to use vaping products like the JUUL who otherwise would not use tobacco so early in life – this theory sounds good, but is just a 'theory' because youth tobacco smoking rates have dropped because of vaping, its replacing smoking, not just adding to it

one year ago this month JUUL voluntarally pulled all of their non-tobacco/menthol/mint flavors from common stores, and only provided these other flavors to specialty vape shops and online to make them much harder to get; further just recently they stopped providing them to all US markets – now even mint JUUL pods can't be bought anywhere, leaving only tobacco and menthol flavors to be sold just like and alongside cigarettes and even online and in vape shops … if the feds and states are correct, this should solve the biggest problem of youth being attracted to nicotine use because of JUUL's small discreet device being no longer available in appealing flavors anywhere, and should stop the need for a ban on flavoring for other larger vape systems – but will it work? is it enough? will all other vape e-juice producers need to follow suit?
