CA SB793 Referendum Update and Opportunity for Retail Locations to Assist https://ift.tt/2FsvvRz

Today the Attorney General will provide the title and summary for the circulation petition to gather the required number of signatures to qualify the referendum as a ballot measure for the November 2022 elections. Canvassers will be hitting the streets tomorrow to start gathering signatures for the next 77 days. Once completed the signatures will be provided for county level inspection and verification by November 26th. At that point either a fast random check or a full check will be conducted and upon verification will cause the suspension of SB793 until the November 2022 elections.

CA Election Reform Law applies so signatures need to be gathered in a specific and controlled fashion to ensure a minimum of invalid signatures, that registered voters who sign are, indeed, registered voters in the county they are registered in, etc. The question has been asked a few dozen times already; no, this is not an online web form you can fill out.

There may be ways for retail establishments to assist and participate in the signature collection process, and we hope to be able to provide some more information on that soon. Expect more updates and information through our Neighborhood Business Alliance and the California Coalition For Fairness in the near future as we go through this intense process for the next couple of months.

If you are interested in assisting in the signature gathering process, please read the following and sign up if this is something that you are willing and able to do: https://forms.gle/JFg1mJ9JCxbNa76cA
