Innokin Sceptre Pod Kit Review https://ift.tt/3k2R3U0

I was the lucky Grand Prize winner of the Innokin Sceptre Kit Giveaway, and offered to do a product review as gratitude for the generous giveaway by Innokin.

Some info about me – been vaping since ~2013. Some of my first mods were the Innokin MVP, and the Innokin iTaste SVD if that gives you an idea of how dated I am. I've always liked their products, so I was really happy to win their new pod system and try a new product. I'm mostly an RTA guy, but I did buy a couple Caliburns and enjoyed them for their mobility. I'm going to be mostly comparing this mod to the Caliburn, because that's the only other "Pod mod" I've used.

The Sceptre has a nice feel to it, reminds me of my buddy's Smok Nord. It's significantly heavier than the Caliburn, but much more functional. The pods are more like tanks, where they don't need to be replaced – just the coil. I've been using the same coil for a week, have filled it up about 10 times, and the flavor and vapor production are similar from the first drag – so I can already tell the coil life is better than the Caliburn pods. The pod volume is an estimated ~3ml which IMO is perfect. I haven't had any leaking or sputtering issues on this mod yet, whereas on my Caliburn I'll get some sputtering occasionally.

The draw activation feature is money, I wouldn't get a small pod mod that didn't have one. My second Caliburn arrived without this feature working, so to see it working flawlessly on the Sceptre is a relief. There's also a "boost mode", which ups your power by 1W/2W for 1.2 Ohm/0.5 Ohm respectively… Which in my opinion isn't really a significant "boost", but it's a simple feature and definitely doesn't make the mod worse for having it.

Pros:

  • No leaking, Pod is magnetically attached to Mod
  • Not a PITA to fill
  • 1400 mAh battery
  • Don't need to replace entire pods, just coils
  • Great flavor
  • Coil life seems better than expected
  • Convenient LED to show your juice level when you draw
  • Feels good in hand, nice build quality and simplistic design
  • Inexpensive MSRP

Cons:

  • You can't rebulid coils
  • The weight doesn't allow you to comfortably vape "hands free"
  • No USB-C
  • I keep calling it Spectre instead of Sceptre.

I also received a Sceptre T-Shirt and a cool leather-bound notebook and ballpoint pen. Innokin was also kind enough to throw in a 5-pack of coils as well. I am so happy that vendors still offer these giveaways to our community – really, thank you all for your generosity. I'd definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a new pod device. It's not going to replace my RX200 on my desktop but it will definitely replace my Caliburn and eVic mini for when I'm on the go.
