Noob at DIY but this wicking problem / coil burning makes no sense to me? https://ift.tt/2FCxH9B

I am using a 50/50 60mg/ml nic salt base. I have VG and PG separately.
I have mixed a flavorless 20mg/ml juice by putting 1/3 of my nic salt base, 1/3 VG and 1/3 PG. then I added 6 drops of a one-shot flavoring (called nebula) to 20ml of the above mix. I wanted the mix to be very lightly flavored.

I prime up a fresh coil, and put it into my Aspire Pockex (which I've been vaping nic salt juices up to 40mg/ml of differing brands for the past 2 years in). Let it sit for a few minutes to prime.

First vape tastes great! Second vape, mmm.. decent. Third vape, does that taste like… burning? Fourth.. ok, definately burning. Fifth.. *cough cough*.

Change out the coil and try again. Same thing.

So I fired up my Zenith tank with a fresh 0.5ohm plexus coil and primed it, filled it, waited 5 mins and off we go starting at 8W then testing up to 14W. Same problem. If I wait 5 mins between each vape it seems to be ok. But my storebought 60/40 and 50/50 juices seem to work fine at my regular vaping speed so I don't know what else to try here.

So then I mixed up my base, VG and PG into a 20mg/ml but this time 60 PG / 40 VG thinking the liquid was too thick (and this time it was much thinner!) and I was able to get maybe 15 minutes of vaping into it before it started to taste burnt again.

Note: I am "shake and vape"ing it. It seems mixed enough, it tastes perfect the first vape or two!

Any ideas?
