Regarding the claims that VG is as bad as smoking a cigarette, I find the following research particularly interesting, which leads to me to vape VG at no more than 210C/410F using temperature control:

From what I have seen, the claims of dangerous byproducts from thermal decomposition of VG/PG are supported by experiments conducted at high power for the coils used and therefore high temperatures (though the actual temperature is generally not disclosed), often equivalent to a dry hit. BUT we need to be aware that clearly the decomposition into toxic byproducts commences at lower temperatures, and it looks like around 210C/410F is where it starts, based on the evidence of these experiments. Of course the decomposition of any particular juice will depend on what ingredients are in it and at what levels.
