INTRODUCTION

Hello everyone, Pizza Dave delivering the freshest reviews I can. Today I will be going over the Luxe PM40 by Vaporesso. Vaporesso has been nailing the pod and AIO market as of late, and here they are with another. The Luxe PM40 comes packed with some solid features. It has an 1800mah battery, single color display, adjustable airflow, adjustable power output, and a 4ml pod. I have grown fond of several Vaporesso pods, so let’s see if this holds its own as well! let’s get right to it eh?

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Alright, Vaporesso, let’s see what you got. First off, I opted to open up the Jade model. It just looked a little more fancy on the box and I tell you what, I wasn’t wrong. The resin looking IML sticker has a nice look that makes it appear fancier than it is. Starting at the top, you have a 4ml pod with a wide mouth piece. The entire black top comes off for refills without removing the pod. Down on the one side is a fire button, opposite of that is an airflow slider. Now over on the narrower side is a screen. It shows everything you need to know. It’s bright, clear, and basic, but it works well. Down at the bottom of the screen side of the device is a USB-C charging port. Well done on Vaporesso for having the charge port on a side and not the bottom. I really had laying my stuff down on its side to charge.

OPERATION

This one is super easy to use, but also packs some features in. To get rolling, click the fire button 5 times. Same thing to turn it off. When a pod is inserted, it will automatically adjust wattage, BUT if you want to adjust this, simply click the fire button 3 times then keep on clicking. It is tedious at first but simple and doesn’t need to be done often enough to worry about it. Everything else you need to know is shown on the screen including resistance, puffs, wattage, and battery. Another topic to cover here is the air flow adjustment. Not the first time it’s been done, but there is a slider opposite of the fire button. Left is closed down, right is opened up. It has varying airflow options from MTL to tight DL. The pod itself is generic. it has a top that pops off, port to refill, and coils are installed and removed simply by pushing and pulling. It’s easy, it works. Not much here to discuss.

USEAGE

Alright, so this is the part that matters, actually vaping it. For starters, I rolled with the .8-ohm mesh first. This one was paired with a 20mg salt at 14w. It had solid flavor, smooth airflow, and lasted around 500 puffs. I had little to complain about. The second coil was the .6-ohm mesh. I paired this with a 6mg liquid and it just doesn’t do it for me. I have some gurgling at times, flavor is just meh, and it is too late now to go back. The device itself is pretty great though. I never came across many issues with the setup, the refills, or anything there. Charging is also SUPER fast, which is a bonus.

FINAL THOUGHTS

All in all I think that the LUXE PM40 is a solid device for the pod market. I wish I had some extra coils for figuring out the right liquid, but oh well. I felt that the .8-ohm coil was a real winner for it, and that’s the route I would take if I bought more. This device has more pros with cons as well. For starters, it looks more like a premium device, but with a lower price tag. It feels solid, and has a great battery for all day vaping. I like that it has adjustable airflow as well, which is done with ease via the slider. Another big pro for me is having a display. It’s great to see real world battery output on all devices with built in batteries because if it’s one thing I hate, it’s battery anxiety. Another pro is the top fill, which is easy to use simply by pushing the top cap to a side. USB-C is also a pro that I will throw out there because it charges fast, is a secure connection, and I’ve never had a C type fail yet. There are a few cons that I must bring up though. First off, the .6-ohm coil got gurgly from time to time. It never leaked, but it flooded a little. Another little con is the level of airflow. I want my pods to be a little tighter, and even on the tightest it is not a super tight MTL. One minor con is the slow adjustment of wattage. This has just one button for simplicity, but it makes for a slightly annoying process cycling through in 1 watt increments and round robin if you get too click happy.

All in all, it’s a solid device though. The faults don’t outway the cons and it works well for what it is. It doesn’t stand out a ton, but I can’t really knock it for much.

OVEN TEST – If this were to accidentally fall into the pizza oven, would I go out and get another? I get a lot of pods and AIOs, so this one will get used up and set aside. It doesn’t stand out over other pods for me.

REVIEW CRITERIA: I use each item for about two weeks to ensure I have collected enough data to adequately write a review. I use the same e liquid in tanks or rdas throughout all my reviews to ensure that I am comparing apples to apples between all modern equipment. I do not post reviews until I feel confident that I have used it enough to give an educated review. The reason I started doing reviews was due to poor purchasing decisions in my vaping infancy about two years ago. Back then, I purchased several different pieces of hardware without really enjoying it and I hope my reviews can guide people into spending their hard-earned money more wisely than I did! \***Keep in mind that some items I receive may be pre-release and not in retail packaging. Quality may be less than the finished product and what is in the package may differ from the retail package as well.*
