Battery question: My brother gave me all his old vape equipment! https://ift.tt/3aWeE7o

At Christmas my big brother brought over a box with his old vape equipment, after noticing my mod at Thanksgiving. In the box was a nice 4 battery charger with a display of some sort (mine only charges 2, with a color changing light to denote full capacity), 3 dual and triple battery regulated mods, a bunch of RDAs and RDTAs, and a whole slew of batteries with all married pairs stored in individual 2 compartment cases. (He offered me his high-end mechs as well but I declined, though I'm pretty sure I ended up with the batteries for those too.)
My issue is that I really don't know exactly how old this stuff is or how long it's been sitting, and I'm concerned about just "firing 'em up." (Also, he had unknowingly left batteries IN two of the mods, which I immediately removed because No.)

How do I test these batteries in the safest way possible? What am I supposed to be looking for?

Thank you guys in advance!
