MTL with Smok Nord 4 https://ift.tt/3dco7ZB

The Smok Nord 4 is not designed for mouth-to-lung vaping out of the box. The two coils it comes with are too low a resistance for MTL. But if you buy the 0.8ohm "RPM DC MTL" coils — and shut the device's airflow off — it works great for MTL.

Also, the nord 4 has lots of advantages for a pod-style device. The 2000mAh is an unusually large battery for a pocket-friendly device. (and makes it hefty) Also the 4.5ml tank is significantly large. Adjustable wattage and USB-C checks the rest of the boxes I would demand.

My favorite to-go device used to be the Caliburn G. Then my favorite became the VooPoo V-Thru. (I bought 2) Now, my favorite is the Nord 4. I bought a second one of them as well. Aside from the device's good points, my main happy thing is: flavor. It just tastes so good that I reach for one them instead of the others on my desk. Also, the coils seem to last a long time. My first Nord 4 is a couple of weeks old and it is still using the 0.8ohm coil I put into it on the day I got it. It might be one of those rare "God Coils" so I don't know if this is indicative of how things will always be. The coil on my second Nord 4 is going fine, but it has only been 3 or 4 days on him.

Negative points:

– A bit heavy. When in your shirt pocket, it can pull the pocket down a bit and look weird.

– The smoke-tinted plastic of the pod makes it hard to see your juice level, unless you hold it up to a light. Would have been better if plastic was clear instead of smoked.

– There is no wattage-lock system. So I worry about accidentally bumping my wattage up or down. It hasn't happened, but I worry. They should have added a lock system.

– The stitching in the leather on one side of my second device is slightly off-center.

– The battery level is numeric only and the font is tiny. I need to get a magnifier to read what it says, since my normal eyes can't read it.

– It doesn't have draw activation. You have to use the fire button. I don't mind this that much, but sometimes I forget and end up sucking cold air.

In spite of those things, the Nord 4s are the devices I reach for most.

What is on my desk?:

– Caliburn G

– 2 x VooPoo V-Thru

– 2 x Nord 4

– Vicious Ant Primo 21700 with an Innokin Zenith Pro tank

– Augvape Foxy One 21700 with an Augvape Intake MTL RTA

All using the same e-liquid: Swagger by Pink Spot Vapors.
