Key lime cologne. https://ift.tt/2FkLYl2

ok idk where to post this. i read the sidebar and all that and searched and cant find anything answering this question.

2 times now ive tried making a key lime pie with different variations and I get the same cologne like taste. I feel like the %'s might need tweaking but my second one was dramatically lower and tastes the same. heres my shitty recipe

Bavarian Cream (FW) .50% Florida Key Lime (FA) .50% Graham Cracker (Clear) (TPA) .80% Lemon Lime (TPA) .80% Toasted Marshmallow (TPA) .50% Vanilla Custard (FW) .50%

any help would be appreciated. I am currently putting in another order for some more flavors

also im new to reddit, i read the sidebar and searched but didnt find anything pertaining directly to this, ive been studying DIY the past few weeks, im aware i should remake a premade recipe but i really didnt think this would taste like cologne twice.

Low Concentration Menthol; throat hit without impacting taste via /r/DIY_eJuice

Low Concentration Menthol; throat hit without impacting taste https://ift.tt/2r0lT6y

IDK if this is common knowledge but I've found that using low amounts of menthol in mixes will give them a nice throat hit without really tasting of menthol.

For eg here is a sort of tropical cola recipe I'm developing:

3-4% TFA Cola 1.5% TFA Champagne 1.67% menthol 1% TFA Papaya 0.5% TFA Dragon Fruit

The menthol is a saturated solution of crystals in PG at room temperature; I filled a 10ml bottle halfway with crushed menthol crystals, filled it up with PG. After a couple weeks at room temp, I have a layer of undissolved crystals at the bottom. I have been using this pretty much since starting DIY in all of my frequently used recipes, often at higher levels, so people who are less used to menthol may wish to adjust downwards. Maybe using 0.5% of saturated menthol solution instead of 1.67% would be better if you're just starting out or giving it a tty yet not fond of the taste of menthol.

Free flavorings / supplies for someone looking to get into DIY https://ift.tt/2r1kQmf

Hi everyone!

I was originally going to post this in a sale thread, but since DIY_classifieds doesn't exist anymore I decided to give some stuff away to someone looking to get into DIY.

I don't remember what all I have at the moment, but there are atleast 10 flavorings from all the major suppliers like capella, flavor west, etc. Off the top of my head I can think of the following flavors:

  • strawberry

  • blueberry crumble

  • beetle juice

  • raspberry

  • whipped cream

  • vanilla swirl

  • mandrin

  • cotton candy

  • grahm cracker

  • key lime

  • and more!

There is definately more than enough to make a few bottles of juice. You could probably make atleast (10) 60ml bottles. I will include the tiny bit of VG I have, but you will probably have to buy more VG, as well as PG and nicotine yourself. All flavors are PG based and were purchased around 6mo ago.

I want these to go to someone just starting out who hasn`t made their own juice before. Just comment something and ill pick someone at random, and if your post history checks out (no throwaways), then you get it. Ill even cover shipping too! (U.S only).

Just strawberry via /r/DIY_eJuice

Just strawberry https://ift.tt/2qT1Gjd

Lady at work just vapes strawberry on a MTL device. Currently paying £3 for 10ml. She's asked me to make some up for her. Now if she was asking for a strawberry custard or strawberry milkshake id be fine but I've never made a single flavour juice before.

So yeah any advice or recipes around for just strawberry? 🤷

Vape Train Chocolate Mousse via /r/DIY_eJuice

Vape Train Chocolate Mousse https://ift.tt/2HvqsMB

Setup: Recoil w/ flavor barrel, Dual 12 wrap 24g 3.5mm SS316 @.32 ohms. 60w power, 450F temp limit. Full Cotton Wicks.

Testing: Vape Train Chocolate Mousse, 3% and 7%, 60/40 VG/PG base, Steeped 14 days.

Flavor Description: Softer, fluffy chocolate flavor.

Solid chocolate here. Seems more like semi-sweet rather than a darker chocolate or a really rich milk chocolate. Nothing too fruity or weird, and with just a bit of bitterness to set it all off. Sweet but not cloying, seems pretty well-balanced overall.

The mousse part this comes across more in mouthfeel than actual taste for me. This does seem to have a fluffier mouthfeel and texture. I’m not really picking up anything richer like a mousse. Comes across a bit more like a chocolate whipped cream like to me, but I’m not getting any strong dairy notes. Mostly just a fluffy chocolate.

I do pick up a bit of a plastic note out of this. Still pretty subtle at 7%, and doesn’t really show up that clearly at 3%. Nowhere near the plastic weirdness of the reformulated INW Milk Chocolate, but seems to be there if you are looking for it. Would probably stand out a bit more in a tiny rda. No weird tartness like VTA Devon Cream though.

And because it’s a chocolate, a quick note on coil gore. Relatively light concentrate, with no really extreme gunking. After about 15mls I’d say my wicks were a bit crispy and the flavor was becoming fairly muted, but no distinct coil gore. Maybe a hair harder on the wicks that TPA Double Chocolate Clear, but nothing serious.

Off-Flavors: Light “band-aid” type plastic note at higher percentages.

Throat Hit: Nah, I’d call it fairly smooth.

Percentage testing: At 3%, the flavor here seems a bit light. Clear cocoa notes, but not much fullness. Middle of the flavor feels a bit watery. No off-flavors here though.

At 7%, fuller chocolate. Still not picking up much mousse, but the chocolate tastes about like the chocolate in a mousse and the mouthfeel is fluffy without feeling thin. Light plastic note though.

Vape Train suggests mixing with this at 1-2% or standalone from 3-6%. Sure, that sounds okay. Just based on these tests, that seems like it’s in the ballpark. I’d be more likely to use this as a base to build off at around 5-7%, but you’d get a lighter chocolate accent down around 2%.

Uses & Pairings: Very soft, kind of diffused chocolate flavor. Feels a lot like it’s going to sink into recipes as opposed to working like a discrete chocolate component. Pairing this up against a milkshake base would do a fairly solid chocolate milkshake. I could also see using this as chocolate in a chocolate cake.

Should pair well with fruit flavors in general, just because the off-notes are pretty manageable. I’d look mostly at traditional red fruits like strawberries and raspberries, but knock youself out if you really want to pair up something weirder like acai or blueberry.

Also feels like it could work to put some chocolate in a cheesecake or even a mousse.

Second Opinions: Again, the almighty google is coming up short.

Just wondering if someone knows how long Nicotine River takes to process and ship orders, this is my first order from them that I placed on early Sunday morning and have yet to hear anything back, is this unusual?
